“Sean and his team have been teaching my daughter piano for 2 years and she loves it! We previously used another music school for 6 months and she had made essentially no progress. She started immediately improving once we moved her to Rising Stars.”William W.

What violin lessons cover

Violin takes patience and rewards it. Lessons happen in our larger rooms, where there is space to bow.

  • Holding the violin and bow, posture, and a clear tone.
  • Ear training and playing in tune.
  • Reading music, scales, and pieces that grow with you.
  • Students work from the Suzuki Violin School books.

For kids and adults

Kids can start violin young. Your teacher will help you find a violin in the right size, since kids play smaller instruments as they grow.

Adults start violin from scratch all the time. Lessons go at your pace, and every week you leave knowing exactly what to practice.

Common questions

Do you offer group classes?

Our lessons are one-on-one: one teacher and one student, for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. We do not run group classes. A private lesson moves at your own pace, and it costs the same $50 for 30 minutes.

How young can my child start?

We teach kids from age 3. For ages 3 to 5 we usually suggest piano or drums.

Do I need my own violin?

You will want your own violin to practice at home. Violins come in smaller sizes for kids, and your teacher can help you find the right size.

What does it cost?

$50 for a 30-minute lesson, and you pay as you go. Longer lessons are $70 for 45 minutes and $90 for an hour. No packages to buy up front, no sign up fees, and no contracts.

Is the first lesson a trial?

There is no trial lesson. Your first lesson is a full lesson with one of our teachers. Because everything is pay as you go, there is no commitment beyond it. If you love it, we hold your weekly slot.

How does scheduling work?
